"Let's smile, even when we're sad.
It's sadder to want to smile and not be able to!"

Who am I?

Hello, dear readers, welcome to Between the Wings of the Black Bird!
I am Vanessa Lamounier Soares, creator of this blog, which, first and foremost, is dedicated to paying homage to one of the most important men in my life, my grandfather, António Garcia Lamounier, better known as “Totónho” or, as I loved to call him, “Bocoyo”!
My beloved grandfather was a true cattleman on the farms of Minas Gerais, Brazil, born on June 8, 1938. During his life, one of his great passions was to quote short verses that came from his heart, verses that have always enchanted me. And to continue this legacy, I will introduce them into my poems.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself a little more: I am a young Portuguese woman with not only European but also Latin origins, born in the summer of 1999. This blog aims to share my love of writing, not only through poems, but also through heartfelt texts that, until now, were limited to my sheets of paper and notebooks with endless drafts.
I hope you like it and that, in some way, my words manage to touch a corner of your hearts or even awaken reflections and thoughts within you that you were unaware of.
