Who am I?

Hello, dear readers, welcome to “Between the Wings of the Black Bird”!

I am Vanessa Lamounier Soares, creator of this blog, which is first and foremost dedicated to paying homage to one of the most important men in my life, my grandfather António Garcia Lamounier, better known as “totónho” or as I loved to call him, bocoyo!

My beloved grandfather was a purebred cattleman from the farms of Minas Gerais in Brazil, born on June 8, 1938.

During his life, one of his passions was to quote short verses that came from his heart, which always enchanted me and, to continue, I will introduce them into poems.

In light of my introduction and so that you can get to know me a little better, I am a young Portuguese woman with not only European but also Latin origins, born in the summer of 1999.

The purpose of this blog is also to share my love of writing, not only with poems, but also with heartfelt texts that I want to stop being just on my sheets of paper and special notebooks with endless drafts.

I hope you like it and that it can also reach a corner of your hearts or even call forth within you a flame of thoughts or reflections that you may not know exist within each of you.
